Methods for Controlling Burrs on Metal Stamping Parts
Dongguan Changdong Metal Stamping Parts Co., LTD., founded in 2012, located in Dalang Town, Dongguan City, is one of China professional metal stamping parts manufacturer, specialized in various size of metal stamping parts production.
During the production of stamping parts, burrs of varying degrees are usually generated. Burrs seriously affect the quality of stamping parts. What are the commonly used methods to control burrs?
1. Optimize the design of stamping dies: Reasonably select the gap between stamping dies, ensure the sharpness of the stamping die blade, avoid excessive tearing of materials, and reasonably select the gap between stamping dies. It is of great significance to control the burrs of stamping parts. If the gap between the stamping dies is too small, the material will be over-torn and large burrs will be generated. If the gap between the die is too large, the material flow will be unstable and irregular burrs will be generated. Therefore, when designing stamping dies, the influence of the gap between the die and the burrs should be fully considered. The sharpness of the blade has an important influence on the control of burrs of stamping parts. A higher blade sharpness can reduce material tearing and reduce burr generation; a lower blade sharpness will cause excessive tearing of materials and increase burr generation. Therefore, during the production process, the stamping die blade should be regularly inspected and ground to maintain the sharpness of the blade. The solution to burrs can well reflect the technical strength and management ability of the mold maintenance team.
2. Improve material properties: Select high-strength and high-toughness materials to reduce the tendency of materials to tear during stamping. The material of the sheet has been determined in the product definition stage, so it is basically impossible to temporarily change the material during the production of metal stamping parts.
3. Adjust stamping process parameters: appropriately reduce the stamping speed, increase the stamping temperature, and reduce the die gap to reduce burrs.
4. Use deburring technology: Use deburring technology during the stamping process or later, such as mechanical deburring, chemical deburring, laser deburring, etc. This can be achieved through rework during the production of automotive panels.
