What is the common processes used of metal cold stamping?

Author:Dongguan Changdong Metal Stamping Parts Co., LTD. Date:2024-12-16 Reading:

Cold metal stamping is an advanced metal processing method. It is based on the plastic deformation of metal and uses stamping dies and stamping equipment to process sheet metal to obtain the required part shape and size.

Changdong Metal Stamping Factory focuses on the production of various large and small metal stamping parts for automotive, home appliances, office equipment and kitchen ware. The commonly used stamping processes can be divided into two categories: separation process and forming process. The separation process can be divided into blanking, punching and cutting. The forming process can be divided into bending, stretching, flanging, flanging, bulging, flaring, shrinking and spinning.

According to the shape, dimensional accuracy and other technical requirements of product parts, various processes can be used to process sheet metal blanks to obtain satisfactory parts.

Blanking: Punch along the closed contour curve with a punch, and the punched part is the part. It is mainly used to manufacture flat parts of various shapes.

Punching: Punch along the closed contour curve with a punch, and the punched part is waste.

Cutting: Cut along the unclosed curve with scissors or a punch, which is used to process flat parts with simple shapes.

Trimming: trimming the edges of formed parts neatly or cutting them into a certain shape.

Bending: finishing various shapes of sheet metal along a straight line, and can process parts with extremely complex shapes.

Rolling: rolling the end of the sheet metal into a nearly closed round head, which is used to process parts similar to hinges.

Stretching: forming sheet metal blanks into various hollow parts.

Flanging: punching vertical edges on pre-punched sheet metal semi-finished products or unpunched sheets.

Restriking: a forming method used to improve the dimensional accuracy of formed parts or obtain a small fillet radius.

In order to meet the development trend of rapid product updates and small production batches, some new forming processes (such as high-energy forming and spinning, etc.), simple molds (such as soft tools and low-melting-point alloy molds, etc.), general combination molds, CNC stamping equipment and stamping flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), etc. have been developed. In this way, cold stamping production is suitable for both mass production and small batch production.

With 12 years of experience, Changdong Metal Stamping Factory has a thorough understanding and application of the production process of stamping parts. CAE analysis will be performed on the product in the early stage to predict the problems that the product may encounter in advance and provide effective solutions in time.
