What is Metal Stamping?

Stamping is a production technology that uses a stamping die clamped on a press (punch press) to apply a stamping force to the sheet in the stamping die, causing the sheet to form in the die, thereby obtaining product parts of a certain shape, size and performance. Sheet material, stamping die and punching press are the three elements of stamping.

Since stamping is often performed in a cold state of the material, it is also called cold stamping.

Metal stamping is one of the metal processing methods. It is a material forming engineering technology based on the theory of metal plastic deformation. The raw materials for stamping are generally sheet materials or strip materials, so it is also called sheet metal stamping.
